Kicking off the festive season in the kitchen this year are 2 homemade treats sure to please the chef or gourmet in your whanau. We start by making some caramelised onion marmalade – perfect for cheese and cold cuts. Then we will preserve some lemons which are in glut at the moment. Preserved lemons are ideal in North African cookery but can be used in any dish.
Suitable for all level cooks. Children welcome (13 to 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult free of charge)
To keep costs as low as possible, students are asked to provide the ingredients they need.
Students will receive a lesson plan in advance giving them a clear understanding of the objectives and expectations for the session. Recipe sheets will be provided so that students can take them away and build up a stock of recipes in a folder. Other reference material may also be provided.
Don’t forget – every student also gets complimentary lifetime membership to Ben’s Cookery Club. This online resource gives students unlimited access to:-
- Instructional videos
- ‘How To...’ downloadable guides
